Job Summary:

The City of Portland is actively seeking a full time Senior Accountant to join our outstanding Finance Department team. This position assists in a wide variety of finance and accounting duties. Duties & Responsibilities:

A/P check runs

Processing monthly bills

Grant setups and reporting

Adding fixed assets

Monitoring capital improvement projects

Month-end and account reconciliations

Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (with sufficient coursework in accounting), or sufficient training and experience

Applied knowledge of accounting principles, intermediate data entry and Excel skills

Aptitude to learn new financial systems

Must be able to work independently and demonstrate critical thinking with attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Experience with auditors and preparing audit schedules

Government fund accounting

MAAP and Uniform Guidance preparation

Expected Hours/Schedule:

General hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. M-F. This position is eligible for some remote work and potential alternate work hours.

Salary & Benefits:

This is a union position, ProTech (Grade 7) Salary range of \$58,617.00 - \$70,005.00.
