Position Overview **:
As part of the talented Boston Whaler team,** you will need to possess strong knowledge and hands-on experience in the construction of new product tooling. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all phases of the tooling build process, including pattern construction, mold lamination, steel bracing, and final finishing. This position plays a key role in ensuring tooling is built to the highest standards to support quality production and new product development final finishing.

Essential Functions:
Pattern shop: ability to sand and buff patterns to required finish
Lamination shop: ability to laminate molds following documented lamination specification with focus on rolling out air to ensure mold quality
Class A shop: ability to sand and buff production and tooling gel surfaces to required finish
Must have the ability to be trained in each Department as required
Must be dynamic and have the willingness to move around between each department on a daily or weekly basis to meet the demands of a flexible schedule
Ensure that work area is clean, orderly and safe at all times
Ability to perform other duties as required; production support, cut up and disposal of patterns, etc.

Required Qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to spray tooling and production gelcoats
Detailed wood working experience; ability to fabricate patterns and mockups from engineering prints
All aspects of metal working and welding (Welding certification, torch and plasma cutting, Mig and Tig welding, pipe bending, print reading, metal cutting machines)
Working Conditions:
Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reaching
Moderate lifting ability up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment (may be above 100 ambient degrees or below 10 ambient degrees in areas of production)
Ability to work in a fiberglass dust environment and a fast paced, noisy environment
Ability to work overtime (planned and unplanned)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $19-$29.42, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business @context.
