Summary
You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (AMMUNITION) in the Ordnance Logistics/Handling Branch, Ordnance Operations Division of NMC CWD DET NORTH ISLAND/SCI ANNEX.
Duties
Help
You will initiate, develop, revise, and submit for review and implementation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Standard Inspection Procedures (SIP) for ordnance operations.
You will ensure that inspections, inventories, and processing and handling of ordnance are performed in accordance with approved procedures and in compliance with the specifications or individual test requirements.
You will perform oversight and audits on ordnance qualification and certification programs, training, magazines, ready service lockers, tenant commands, and ordnance assembly buildings.
You will document audit discrepancies and develop and maintain a corrective action system.
You will plan, manage, and direct the safe movement, stowage, and accountability of all ordnance in support of 16 tenant commands and over 200 fleet units and their ordnance personnel.
You will review and monitor inventory performance reports and perform data analysis and trending of inventory metrics.
You will compile, analyze, and summarize information related to ordnance quality assurance, inventory management, and receipt, segregation, storage, and issue functions.
You will identify and analyze relationships among organizational needs and objectives, costs, and requirements in supply guides and related information sources.

This is a bargaining unit position.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Explosive Certification.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing quality assurance audits of ordnance operations (e.g. ammunition handling, storage, transportation) and analyzing data to identify deficiencies or negative trends to ensure ordnance processes comply with program parameters, rules, and regulations.

successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or
successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; or
successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled; or
a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
