We have a current opening for a Director of QA/QC. This role will be based out of our Dallas, TX office.
Role Summary
Royal Electric's Director of Electrical QA/QC is a senior leadership role responsible for establishing, leading, and executing Royal's quality assurance and quality control strategy across mission-critical, advanced manufacturing, commercial, and complex industrial projects.
This role ensures electrical work is installed right the first time, meets or exceeds contract and code requirements, and supports predictable commissioning, energization, and turnover. The Director of QA/QC serves as Royal's technical quality authority, partnering closely with operations, commissioning, safety, and clients from preconstruction through project closeout.

Responsibilities
Quality Leadership
Establish and lead Royal's Mission Critical Electrical QA/QC Program.
Define company-wide quality standards, inspection protocols, and execution expectations.
Serve as Royal's senior quality representative with clients, GCs, AHJs, and third-party inspectors.
Support the strategic growth of Mission Critical and Advanced Manufacturing markets by reducing execution risk.
Portfolio & Project Management
Own the enterprise project portfolio, including capital projects, business and construction technology initiatives, enterprise level implementations, and corporate programs.
Implement portfolio prioritization, capacity planning, and training and change management.
Provide executive-level visibility into project health, risks, dependencies, and financial performance.
Preconstruction & Early Engagement
Partner with Preconstruction and Operations during pursuits and project startup.
Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to identify quality risks and inspection requirements.
Develop project-specific QA/QC plans, inspection checklists, and hold points.
Influence means and methods to ensure constructability and quality compliance.
Field Quality Execution
Oversee QA/QC execution for complex electrical systems including:
Underground, grounding, and duct bank systems
Medium and low voltage distribution
Switchgear, UPS, generators, PDUs, RPPs
Cable tray, raceways, terminations, and labeling
Ensure inspections are planned, documented, and executed in alignment with project schedules.
Coordinate with field leadership to resolve quality issues quickly and permanently.
Support inspection readiness for AHJs and third-party testing agencies.
Quality, Risk & Compliance Management
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, NETA, UL, and client-specific standards.
Identify quality trends, root causes, and corrective actions across projects.
Maintain quality metrics and reporting to support leadership decision-making.
Prevent quality issues from impacting commissioning, energization, or turnover.
Executive & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a trusted advisor to the C suite and executive leadership team on execution strategy and delivery risk.
Facilitate executive steering committees and governance forums.
Communicate clearly and credibly with senior leaders, business unit heads, and external partners.
Documentation & Turnover
Oversee QA/QC documentation including inspection reports, punch lists, and deficiency tracking.
Ensure accurate and complete turnover documentation in support of commissioning and owner acceptance.
Support clean handoff between construction, commissioning, and operations.
Leadership & Team Development
Build, mentor, and lead Royal's QA/QC managers, inspectors, and field quality teams.
Develop standardized training, inspection tools, and career pathways.
Foster a culture where quality is owned by the field and enabled by QA/QC.

Requirements
Education & Experience
Required
10+ years of electrical construction experience with strong QA/QC leadership.
Proven experience on mission-critical, advanced manufacturing, or industrial projects.
Deep knowledge of electrical installation standards, inspections, and codes.
Strong communication skills with field teams, clients, and inspectors.
Ability to travel and support projects nationwide.
Preferred
Data center or high-availability facility experience.
Experience working with AHJs and third-party inspection agencies.
Safety & Physical Requirements
Must wear proper PPE while on jobsites.
Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
Sit, stand, and walk during the duration of the workday.
Will lift, carry, push, pull, kneel, crouch, and reach.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Salary Range:
$130,000/year - $170,000/year
