Department Summary:
MITRE is seeking a Strategic Finance Lead within the Finance sector to track, drive, and implement strategic execution of priority financial programs and activities. This is a lead position designed to provide analytical, project, and strategic support to both key business activities and priority projects and programs. Success of this position is defined by increased data-driven decision-making, more effective coordination and smoother execution, improved customer experience, and enhanced operational excellence in a cost-conscious environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Create simple, compelling, data-driven materials that enable clear understanding and motivate action among senior management, including papers, memos, presentations, dashboards, data visualizations, and e-mails.
· Partner with the market intelligence and research team to assemble and conduct analyses, reports, and briefings that provide actionable insight on MITRE's sponsors and the external landscape.
· Prepare financial models, conduct research, and prepare briefings and recommendations related to pursuit and proposal opportunities, investments, and other strategic finance opportunities and transactions.
· Drive end to end project coordination and management support for both ongoing initiatives and complex special projects, maintaining timelines, lists, reports, presentations, and overall project plans. Ensure assigned individuals are executing the identified and assigned tasks and providing appropriate tracking and reporting per plan.
· Ensure efforts are completed with: a.) a clear understanding of end-user experience, b.) cross-organization awareness and an understanding of interdependencies, c.) effective and clear decision governance, and d.) budgetary adherence and alignment.
· Work with senior leaders to define and confirm initiative governance models; plan, structure, and run effective program and activity reviews and meetings.
· Work in a collaborative atmosphere with team members across multiple locations; manage relationships within and outside of Finance including with senior leaders as appropriate.
· Assist with ad hoc special assignments for the CFO and Director as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
· 5+years professional experience in finance and business operations
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
· Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, with strong capabilities with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
· Experience with aggregating, analysis, and reporting on data, developing dashboards and reports through Tableau, PowerBI, or a similar tool
· Experience conducting market research and market intelligence analysis; familiarity with tools and systems including GovWin, BGov, federal budget resources, and federal procurement databases
· This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site
Preferred Qualifications:
· Ability to effectively apply strong self-organization and time management skills, with considerable emphasis on self-initiation
· Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including creation of plans, reports, and briefing decks. Demonstrated capacity to assemble and present executive-level briefings that synthesize complex data and make actionable recommendations
· Able to proactively assess situations and make decisions within broadly defined practices and procedures

Salary compensation range and midpoint:
$122,800 - $153,500 - $184,200 Annual
