POSITION: DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM, INSTRUCTION, AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
REPORTS TO: VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
SALARY RANGE: Mid $70's annually, depending on education, experience, and qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development is responsible for coordinating select program curriculum reviews; reviewing new program requests and tracking their progress from development through implementation; and maintaining course/program accuracy across Banner, Student Catalog, College Website, and Degree Works. Will also train faculty, staff and students in use of Degree Works; maintain records of program locations, both on and off-site; and provide direct support to college administrators and instructional staff.
Major Duties:
· Organizes and manages all curriculum-related processes in the Knowledge Management System (KMS) and curriculum database;
· Facilitates the design process for effective, quality instruction; and providing pedagogical and curricular consultation for course development;
· Oversees institutionally-developed programs;
· Assures consistency in curriculum documentation between our college catalog, college website, Banner, and Degree Works;
· Collaborates with faculty to ensure that curricula and course materials adhere to quality assurances and professional standards, as defined by accrediting bodies and state standards;
· Works with college committees to approve curricula and curriculum-related policies and procedures;
· Develops assessment reports that include recommendations for improvement of academic programs, including distance education;
· Develops improvements to the existing student experience and processes, based on analyzed data, current practice, and emerging trends;
· Assists with review of curriculum for purposes of establishment of articulation agreements;
· Recommends and implements teaching and learning strategies that improve innovation in the classroom;
· Tracks program approvals from inception, through curriculum committee, leadership team, TCSG (if needed), and SACSCOC; and follows through to implementation;
· Ensures the completeness, accuracy, and online availability of program information and sample graduation plans;
· Assists with program accreditation activities (including site visits) and institutional accreditation activities;
· Recommends development and revision of academic policies and procedures as needed;
· Coordinates professional development activities for faculty and staff members related to teaching and learning;
· Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
§ Bachelor's degree in an educational discipline or other related program major from an accredited college or university;
§ Five (5) years of teaching experience in a post-secondary education setting;
§ Work experience in utilizing a student information system, such as Banner.

§ Knowledge of TCSG's program offerings and curriculum structure

§ Attitude appropriate for the workplace, which includes interacting positively and cooperating with co-workers and students, working as a team member, functioning effectively under pressure, and responding in a positive manner to supervisors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (in addition to minimum qualifications & competencies):
§ Master's degree in an educational discipline or other related field from an accredited college or university;
§ Five (5) years or more of teaching experience in a technical college or 2-year community college education setting;
§ Experience using Degree Works;
§ Experience using KMS.
STATE OF GA BENEFITS INCLUDE: A choice of retirement plans (Georgia State Employees' Pension and Savings Plan or Teachers' Retirement System), health and flexible benefits insurance options, sick leave and annual leave accruals (10 hours each monthly), and 13 state holidays. This position is available for telework up to one day per week after six (6) months of employment.

A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and Five (5) years of experience in management or the defined departmental area.
