This job is a part time, non-benefited, FLSA exempt position in the Nursing Sciences Division that reports to the Program Director of Practical Nursing. Part-time position based on semester system.
Salary: $40-50/hr.
Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 10318)
Shall hold a current Georgia license as a registered professional nurse. Associates of Nursing, Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing OR Master's degree in nursing. Shall have a minimum of three (3) years of practice as a licensed registered nurse within the preceding seven (7) years. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all regulatory agencies and appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.
Candidates for this position are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Refusal to take the test or a positive result will lead to separation and a 2-year ineligibility period for state employment. Additionally, for any employment offer that includes a required drug test, the test must be completed within 48 hours. Failure to comply will result in the offer being rescinded and a 2-year ineligibility period for state employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience instructing students in the clinical, laboratory, and/or classroom setting is preferred. Two years' experience teaching college-level nursing courses as a registered nurse is preferred.
Job Description Summary:
Adjunct clinical faculty responsibilities are to supervise and evaluate students at the clinical sites, as well as laboratory setting. Clinical sites vary from semester to semester in various county. Occasionally in the classroom.
Prepares and delivers clinical and lab course material, in collaboration with the course coordinator/program director. Faculty evaluates students' progress in meeting clinical/lab goals and objectives. Completes clinical/lab student evaluations and grades and evaluates all required student assignments. Knowledgeable and willing to learn various software and platform, such as Blackboard, Docucare, ACEMAPP, Symplr, Low, Mid and High-fidelity mannequins. The willingness to pivot with the changing nursing environment.
Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.
All clinical faculty need to follow the protocol for credentialing at affiliated agencies (Immunizations, TB-testing, chest-x-ray, drug screen, background check, clinical/unit orientation, file upload to ACEMAPP, CPR, nursing license). This position requires pre-employment drug testing and random testing. Follows lesson plans for clinical instruction/lab for credited nursing courses. If offered a position, employees in this department must complete the Hazardous Materials Training as well as the Bloodborne & Airborne Pathogen training annually.
