Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated candidate for its Adjunct Instructor - Horticulture (Part-Time) position in the Health and Public Safety Technologies division, in the Academic and Student Affairs department. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College's Main campus, just South of downtown Atlanta, Ga.
Under general supervision of the Dean of Health and Public Safety Technologies , the Adjunct Instructor - Horticulture (Part-Time) delivers high - quality instruction and skills-based training in agriculture, agriculture business, agricultural engineering, agricultural mechanics, agronomy, environmental (ornamental) horticulture, forestry, natural resources, plant science, pomology, soil science, or other agriculture science. The instructor supports student or staff competency development through classroom instruction, laboratory demonstration, learning management system (LMS) delivery and performance evaluation. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis.
Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:
Delivers high - quality instruction and skills-based training in agriculture, agriculture business, agricultural engineering, agricultural mechanics, agronomy, environmental (ornamental) horticulture, forestry, natural resources, plant science, pomology, soil science, or other agriculture science.
Supports student or staff competency development through classroom instruction, laboratory demonstration, learning management system (LMS) delivery and performance evaluation.
Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and required record-keeping.
Follows approved course syllabus and is responsible for teaching and monitoring students.
Advises and counsels students regarding course requirements and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student.
Completes all reports and records in a timely manner and maintains an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.
Monitors the use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
Assists with student recruitment and job placement as directed by division dean.
Serves on departmental and college committees, councils, and curriculum development teams; assists with course coordination and provides academic counseling and guidance to students.
Attend meetings as required and appropriate.
Observes and enforces the institution's policies and regulations and follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and institutional policies and procedures.
Participates in college and community outreach and community service activities consistent with the mission of Atlanta Technical College and the Technical College System of Georgia, including commencement and convocation activities and special college meetings.
Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual; and
Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :
Must possess and demonstrate the following:
· Bachelor's degree in agriculture, horticulture or a related area.
· Five (5) years related work experience in agriculture or horticulture, farming or related experience.
· Experience in classroom/laboratory instruction or industry experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess and demonstrate the following:
· Master's or Doctorate degree in Agriculture, Horticulture or a related area.
· At least 18 semester graduate hours in agriculture, agriculture science, education with a specialization in agriculture or other agricultural areas (including: agricultural business, agricultural engineering, agricultural mechanics, agronomy, environmental (ornamental) horticulture, forestry, natural resources, plant science, pomology, soil science, or other agriculture science).
