Where You Will Work
Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM) is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Intern will support day-to-day operations within an aerospace manufacturing facility that produces precision metal fittings. This role provides hands-on exposure to aerospace manufacturing processes, quality systems, safety standards, and production workflows. The intern will assist cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, engineering, planning, and supply chain while developing practical skills in a regulated, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support manufacturing operations related to machining, deburring, inspection, and assembly of metal fittings
Assist with data collection, reporting, and basic analysis related to production efficiency, scrap, rework, and throughput.
Help maintain accurate production documentation in accordance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO, etc.)
Shadow and assist supervisors, engineers, and leads with process improvements and workflow optimization
Support inventory tracking, material flow, and basic scheduling activities
Participate in safety initiatives and comply with all EH&S requirements
Assist with continuous improvement projects (5S, Lean, standard work documentation)
Perform administrative and operational support tasks as assigned
Learning Opportunities:
Exposure to CNC machining and metal manufacturing processes
Understanding aerospace quality and compliance requirements
Hands-on experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
Introduction to production planning, quality assurance, and supply chain operations
Professional development through mentorship and real-world projects
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
Strong interest in aerospace manufacturing and metal products
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety requirements
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts
Interest in pursuing a career in aerospace, manufacturing, or operations
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and production equipment
Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs, with reasonable accommodations required by law
Must comply with all company safety and PPE requirements
