About the Role:
As a CBRE Mechanical Engineer, you will manage the team responsible for all mechanical operations for a facility, campus, or portfolio of buildings.
This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for supporting a nationwide facilities program through comprehensive mechanical engineering assessments and technical oversight of building systems, performing a variety of engineering tasks related to facility management such as assessment and evaluation of mechanical systems and review of mechanical designs. Interprets and implements customer requirements and provides support for facility improvement. Incumbents typically have a BS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a technical field specifically related to area of specialty.
What You'll Do:
Provide mechanical engineering support for capital improvement projects supporting a nationwide vocational education program
Perform facility condition assessments to identify mechanical system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions or system upgrades
Review mechanical engineering deliverables, including HVAC equipment and systems, for code compliance, constructability, and program suitability
Identify physical, operational, or program deficiencies that may require capital expenditures and long-term planning
Support projects across all lifecycle phases, from planning and programming through design, construction, and occupancy
Review mechanical engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and related technical documentation
Evaluate applicable codes, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance across projects
Review and support development of project cost estimates, scopes of work, and statements of work (SOWs)
Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including design, construction, planning, real estate, and other technical leads
Participate in or lead mechanical engineering discussions during design reviews, construction meetings, and project coordination sessions
Provide technical guidance and recommendations to support informed decision-making by stakeholders
Support continuous improvement of facilities and systems through proactive engineering analysis and consultation
What You'll Need:
BS or 8+ years of related mechanical engineering oversight experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution required
Professional Engineer preferred but not required
Proficient in facility assessment and review of mechanical engineering designs and construction plans to assure they meet codes, budgets, and schedules
Ability to participate in commissioning of mechanical systems and knowledge of mechanical control systems and their applications are desirable

What You'll Need:

Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. LEED AP, PMP or CMM preferred.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is 90,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $125,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
