Location: Hartford, CT - In office position

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and performing various accounting functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, and CPAs accounting, audit, and reporting requirements and policies. Activities include developing, implementing, and maintaining the accounting system and the fiscal policies and procedures. The Accounting Manager will collaborate with the CFO to meet the agencys strategic needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Bachelors degree in accounting

At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, payroll, reconciliations, and internal management reporting.

Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and non-profit accounting experience are strongly preferred.

Minimum three years of supervisory experience.

Self-motivated individual with effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize the work appropriately.

Able to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment and implement changes quickly and accurately.

Strong emotional intelligence, decision making, analytical, computer and organization skills.

Valid drivers license required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise and provide guidance to Accountant and Accounts Payable/Payroll Administrator to ensure duties and responsibilities are carried out efficiently, effectively and accurately. This includes but is not limited to:

accounts payable and purchase orders

accounts receivable

general ledger

fixed assets

grant and contract reporting

projection reports
