Position Summary:

CVS Health is seeking a hands-on, passionate, and forward-thinking Software Development Engineer to join a dynamic and rapidly evolving team at the forefront of digital health innovation. This role is ideal for individuals who are excited about building microservice based software.

As part of the Aetna Technology organization, you will contribute to the design and development of next-generation platforms and intelligent systems that power our suite of clinical and interoperability products. Your work will directly support the creation of solutions that enhance patient outcomes, streamline healthcare delivery, and personalize the customer experience.

You'll be involved in all phases of software engineering, from requirements analysis to deployment, while adhering to agile software development methodologies. As a Software Engineer, you will:

Develop Cloud native services

Own the features you develop from engineering to supporting in production

Follow software best practices, such as CI/CD and automated testing

Required Qualifications

2+ years experience with backend development in Java-based technologies

2+ years working in cloud-based technologies using frameworks like Spring, Springboot, Kafka, Redis

3+ years hands on system design experience with mission critical applications

2+ years experience with Azure, GCP or other public cloud services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), SaaS application development/support, CI/CD practices, containerization, Kubernetes, and Agile/DevOps methodologies

3+ years experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Rally, or equivalent product engineering collaboration tools

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in large scale applications, with large scale dataset & transaction volume

Demonstrated experience with building and driving adoption of software engineering best practices

Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud computing, and microservices architectures

Strong work ethic, self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment

Experience working with distributed teams, working across multiple time zones and geographies

Ability to influence and inspire teams to align technical direction

Ability to learn/work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space

Technology:

Java programming knowledge on latest JDK versions, Spring framework

Knowledge of open-source packages especially those provided by Apache, Google, and Spring

Database knowledge - SQL, NoSQL, table structure, data relationships

Familiarity with leveraging AI co-pilots in support of SDLC.

In-depth experience with building application programming interfaces (API) and frameworks

Experience with API security, analytics, throttling, caching, logging, request and response modifications

Experience with the Cloud Native Development practices

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$72,100.00 - $158,620.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
