Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to essential financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a commitment to maintaining efficient workflows.

Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payment of invoices.

Manage accounts receivable tasks, including invoicing and payment tracking.

Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and identify discrepancies.

Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial data is properly recorded.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely reporting.

Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support organizational decision-making.

Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve accounting-related inquiries.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in all financial activities.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and enhance efficiency. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.

Proficiency in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and journal entry preparation.

Experience with bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

Familiarity with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Ability to analyze financial data and produce accurate reports.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.
