What You Can Expect

Responsible for supporting the daily operations of the laboratory at all Zimmer Biomet Warsaw facilities and for operating and maintaining complex laboratory equipment for the necessary assigned tasks per area work instructions. May also be responsible for ensuring that equipment calibration and maintenance (preventive and/or corrective) is performed, purchase of lab supplies, trending of test results, and training of fellow team members.

How You'll Create Impact

Assist engineers, scientists and technicians with pre and post-test processing requirements.

Collect data by using independent judgment to determine the most appropriate method of test/experiment and records output.

Accurately record data and assist in its organization and analysis.

Perform and/or ensure that required maintenance of laboratory equipment, machinery and procedures are followed

Assist engineers, scientists and technicians within research, as well as with cross-functional departments.

May assist in designing and constructing special fixtures and apparatuses for testing purposes.

What Makes You Stand Out

Ability to independently perform all lab procedures in a timely manner.

Ability to operate basic and complex test machines and record key data elements.

Must possess an understanding of scientific terminology.

Must demonstrate the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and algebraic equations.

Ability to determine proper method for completing tasks from a predefined set of options.

Ability to assess results from testing, identify any abnormalities in results, and escalate as appropriate.

Must demonstrate knowledge of computer systems/databases.

Must be willing to abide by procedures, federal documents, ISO 13485, GMP's etc. required by the job.

Must be willing to attend educational courses as required by the job.

Must be able to plan and organize own work activities to complete job assignments within allotted time and do so under pressure of constant deadlines.

Must be able to perform lab weekend checks when required.

Must possess sound communication skills, both written and verbal, for accurate documentation of testing and lab procedures.

Must be able to do repetitive bending, climbing, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders to a second story height.

Must have good hand dexterity.

Must be able to work in a laboratory environment and possess basic knowledge of laboratory/analytical operations.

Your Background

Mimimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent with specialized training and/or certification and 2 years of relevant experience.

Must have a valid driver's license in order to perform testing at all Warsaw plants.

Must be able to work overtime as the job demands.

Associates Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering Mechanics, Medical Technology or other related field preferred.

3-5 years of applied experience highly preferred.
