Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Charlottesville, Virginia. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth processing of financial transactions and maintaining vendor relationships. If you are skilled in accounts payable processes and have a strong understanding of financial systems, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable tasks including invoice coding, processing, and reconciliation.

Perform credit card transaction postings to the general ledger with accuracy.

Handle monthly accruals and ensure timely completion of financial obligations.

Execute three-way matching procedures to ensure proper alignment of purchase orders, invoices, and receipts.

Communicate effectively with vendors to address inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

Oversee check runs, ACH payments, and other payment processes.

Assist with month-end closing activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Maintain organized records of transactions and vendor communications.

Utilize SAP B1 to manage and monitor accounts payable processes.

Collaborate with internal teams to support financial operations and reporting. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable, including invoice processing and reconciliation.

Strong knowledge of coding invoices and account coding.

Familiarity with payment methods such as ACH and check runs.

Experience working with credit card statements and reconciliation processes.

Proficiency in SAP B1 and general SAP systems.

Ability to perform month-end close tasks and manage monthly accruals.

Excellent communication skills for vendor management and internal collaboration.

Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
