Department: Student Nurse Internship

Schedule: Flexible work hours. 60 hour committment per semester (minimum 36 hours working as a PCT and maximum of 24 hours of RN shadow shifts).

Hospital: Ascension St. Agnes

Location: Baltimore, MD

Salary : $19.00 per hour

Start Date/Orientation is based on meeting ALL below eligibility requirements and mandatory attendance for any one of the following Orientation Groups: April 6-9, April 20-23, May 4-7, May 18-21, June 1-4

Eligibility Requirements:

Enrolled in an accredited ADN, BSN, or BS-MSN nursing program

Successful completion of first semester of nursing (RN) curriculum

BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required

Maryland CNA license required

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Complete assigned nursing orders as directed by preceptor, including assisting patient with activities of daily living and taking vital signs.

Observe patient status and responses.

Document and report observations to preceptor or other appropriate staff.

Assist preceptor with development of care plan by reporting test results and patient observations.

Perform other tasks as assigned, including environmental services and preparing/transporting patients for diagnostic services.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Nurse Aide obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

High school diploma/GED required. Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.
