Role Summary/Purpose:
The VP, GPCC Marketing leads the strategic marketing direction and execution for the Synchrony Mastercard credit card portfolio, driving initiatives that accelerate acquisition, deepen loyalty, and increase customer engagement. This role is responsible for setting the vision and delivering measurable growth aligned with Synchrony's business priorities.
As a key marketing leader, this role collaborates cross-functionally to refine the card's value proposition, steer innovation across product and digital experiences, and spearhead new business development efforts.
In addition, the VP supervises the marketing execution and digital marketing efforts through direct oversight of the marketing team, who lead acquisition strategies (primarily Prescreens) and lifecycle marketing initiatives; and who drives digital marketing campaign implementation and optimization across channels such as SEO, SEM, social, display, and personalization.
This supervisory responsibility includes providing strategic guidance, fostering collaboration across marketing functions, and ensuring alignment with overall portfolio goals.

Essential Responsibilities:
Develop and lead Synchrony Mastercard GPCC annual growth plans in partnership with internal teams and direct reports, ensuring alignment with financial goals and business priorities.
Provide strategic leadership, mentorship, and performance management for the AVP, Marketing and AVP, GPCC Digital Marketing Manager positions, enabling team success and professional growth.
Set the unified marketing calendar and customer experience touchpoints, incorporating inputs from acquisition, lifecycle, and digital marketing leaders to optimize campaign synergy, maximize impact, and ensure a positive brand experience.
Monitor and optimize marketing spend, including budget approval, forecasting, and pursuing additional funding to meet acquisition and engagement targets.
Oversee the development and management of the card's value proposition by tracking industry trends, competitive positioning, and customer experience metrics through collaboration with direct reports, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
Guide portfolio segmentation and testing strategies to drive targeted growth initiatives across both lifecycle and acquisition channels.
Champion omni-channel marketing programs, including cutting-edge digital initiatives, ensuring effective integration of all consumer touchpoints.
Support ACE/Cross sell and Synchrony Brand initiatives, as a steward of the Synchrony brand.
Lead portfolio and marketing performance reviews using key credit and marketing metrics, supporting Synchrony's annual financial planning processes.
Foster a culture of innovation, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement across the reporting structure and broader marketing organization.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma with 10+ years of experience in marketing within credit card or financial services industries.
5+ years of marketing experience, including:
2+ years managing teams with direct reporting responsibility.
Demonstrated expertise in growth marketing, including analytic and creative leadership, consumer-facing credit card programs/products, and digital channel marketing (online and mobile).
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-layered teams and collaborate effectively across matrixed organizations.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%.
Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
Desired Characteristics:
Advanced degree (MS, MBA) preferred.
Deep experience in credit card marketing including acquisition and lifecycle channels.
Strong strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans to drive business results.
Collaborative leadership style, effective communicator, and strong influencer comfortable with decentralized, matrixed structures.
Experience managing customer loyalty programs and new product development from concept to execution.
Skilled project manager with demonstrated capacity to lead multiple initiatives concurrently.
Proven success partnering across multiple functional areas including data analytics, finance, operations, product, and digital marketing teams.
Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
