NOTICE OF POSITION OPENING

POSITION TITLE: PRE-SENTENCE INVESTIGATION PROGRAM SUPERVISOR

The Court of Common Pleas, General Division, is seeking an individual to serve as a Pre-Sentence Investigation Program Supervisor, for the Pre-Trial Services Program. The essential duties are to provide assistance to the Pre-Trial and Pre-Sentence Director in the implementation of the Pre-Sentence Investigation Program which includes the Pre-Sentence Investigation Reports, post Sentence Reports, Judicial Releases Reports and Expungements. Implement changes as needed to improve the program. Review, update and maintain policies and procedures and ensure that all Pre-Sentence Investigation reports are conducted according to the Court established standards and according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections guidelines. Establish and maintain viable and effective relationships with the Court, the Jail, Probation/Parole Officers, Prosecutors Office, Public Defenders Office, Private Attorneys and Community Service Providers. Maintain the confidentiality of all program and defendants' information. Maintain accurate records and statistical data on the various functions of the Pre-Sentence Investigation Program. Review all Pre-Sentence Investigation Reports before they are submitted to the Court. Assure that all Pre-Sentence Investigation Reports are submitted in a timely fashion. Review and distribute all returned Pre-Sentence Investigation Reports from the Judges to the designated departments. Provide adequate and necessary training to current and newly employed Pre-Sentence Investigation staff. Complete scheduled Pre-Sentence Investigations as well as serve as the back-up for Pre-Sentence Investigation Writers who are unable to complete their reports due to vacation or illness. Attend and participate in workshops and seminars to keep abreast of current changes in the Pre-Sentence Investigations Program. Report any concerns or recommendation to the Deputy Court Administrator, Court Administrator and/or the Administrative Judge. You would be directly responsible for supervision and implementation of the Pre-Sentence Investigation Program and provide oversight to the scheduling and completion of the Pre-Sentence Investigation reports.

Qualifications: Must be able to successfully pass a BCI and FBI Background Check for LEADS (Law Enforcement Automated Data System). Must be able to obtain ORAS (Ohio Risk Assessment System) certification and perform ORAS assessments. A bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for criminal justice, social services or a related field. Must possess at least five (5) years' experience in criminal justice or social services.

Unusual working conditions: Requires work in high-risk areas such as the Stark County Jail.
