The Court of Common Pleas, General Division, is seeking an individual to serve as a Pre-Sentence Investigation Services Writer, for the Pre-Trial Services Program. The essential duties are to gather all necessary information to complete the Court requested report which may be the Pre-Sentence Investigation Report, the Post-Sentence Investigation Report or the Expungement Hearing Report that includes the Criminal History, Arrest/Booking(s), Prosecutors information, including but not limited to the victim's input and restitution owed. Verifying all the information obtained from the defendant is accurate and correct while assuring that all requested information is returned in a timely manner. Establishing and maintaining viable and effective relationships with the Court, the Jail, Probation/Parole Officers, Prosecutors Office, Public Defenders Office, Private Attorneys and Community Service Providers. Confidentiality of all programs and defendants' information must be maintained. Completed reports must be submitted to the Pre-Sentence Investigation Services Supervisor for final review. Any necessary changes or additions must be made to the report before it is filed with the assigned Judge. This position will attend and participate in approved workshops and seminars to keep abreast of current changes in the Pre-Sentence Investigation Services. You will be responsible for reporting any concerns or recommendations to the Deputy Court Administrator, Court Administrator and/or the Administrative Judge. You would be responsible for other related duties that may become necessary or as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications: Must be able to successfully pass a BCI and FBI Background Check for LEADS (Law Enforcement Automated Data System). Must be able to obtain ORAS (Ohio Risk Assessment System) certification and perform ORAS assessments. A bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for criminal justice, social services or a related field. Must possess at least one (1) years' experience in criminal justice or social services.

Unusual working conditions: Requires work in high-risk areas such as the Stark County Jail.
