Your New Role...
The Assistant Manager, Inventory Operations supports the delivery of all product intake, back of house organization and inventory execution within Harry Potter Shop New York. The role ensures that product moves efficiently from delivery through to the sales floor, supporting strong product availability, stock integrity and operational readiness that drive commercial performance.
This position works closely with the Inventory Operations Manager and supports the leadership of the back of house and inventory team. The Assistant Manager focuses on daily execution, team support and operational accuracy. This role requires a highly organized, detail focused leader with strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities and a commitment to operational excellence.
Your Key Responsibilities...
Operations
Support the daily product intake process, ensuring deliveries are received, processed and moved accurately and efficiently.
Assist in maintaining back of house organization including stockroom layout, zoning standards and workflow routines.
Support the replenishment strategy to keep the sales floor stocked, dense and consistent throughout trading hours.
Partner with Visual Merchandising and Sales leadership to support product launches, floor moves and seasonal changes.
Ensure compliance with operational, health and safety and inventory management processes.
Identify opportunities to improve receiving, storage and replenishment routines and implement improvements, in conjunction with the Inventory Operations Manager.
Support cleanliness, equipment care and safe working practices in all operational areas.
Support technology processes in relation to receiving, stock movement and inventory systems.
Assist with personalization operations, including equipment use, processes and inventory where required.
Inventory
Lead on cycle counts, stock checks, damages processing and shrink control routines.
Monitor inventory data and flag trends, risks or discrepancies to the relevant teams
Ensure accurate documentation for deliveries, transfers, returns, damages and adjustments.
Support inventory reporting by gathering data and preparing summaries as required.
Build strong product knowledge, including stock levels, storage needs and density priorities.
Track negative inventory, damages, expiry dates and discrepancies and drive action plans to resolve issues.
People
Maintain daily leadership of the back of house and inventory team, helping maintain strong standards of performance and morale.
Oversee onboarding, training and development of new and existing team members.
Provide regular coaching and feedback to Associates and Leads to improve accuracy, pace and standards.
Action performance conversations and improvement plans in partnership with the Inventory Operations Manager.
Help maintain clear communication across the inventory team and wider store leadership.
Cross-Functional
Support the Inventory Operations Manager with escalations, investigations and operational problem solving.
Work with Technology teams to log and follow up inventory and system related issues.
Partner with Store, Visual Merchandising and Warehouse teams to support smooth stock flow.
Maintain strong visibility on both shop floor and back of house, leading by example on standards and service.
Step in to support leadership coverage during absence of the Inventory Operations Manager when required.
Qualifications and Competencies
Two to four years' experience in retail operations, inventory or back of house leadership roles.
Experience supporting teams in a fast paced and high-volume retail environment.
Strong understanding of receiving, stockroom organization and replenishment routines.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with good organization and follow up.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Confident communicator who can work with store teams and support functions.
Comfortable using inventory systems, reporting tools and Microsoft Office or similar platforms.
Work Pattern
Up to 40 hours a week working 8-hour shifts, this role will require working weekends each month. This role will be based in-store at Harry Potter Shop New York.
Due to the adaptive nature of this role flexibility is required to suit the needs of the business.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $72,305.00 - $134,281.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
