Summary You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the SENSORS AND SONAR SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Responsibilities You will serve as the primary Department Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). You will report and coordinate IA and cybersecurity actions and tasking with the Command ISSM. Your primary goal is to ensure that all IT and Cybersecurity (CS) technical tasks are accomplished in accordance with the program and department guidelines in order to meet system acquisition milestones. You will ensure project success while ensuring the integrity of security systems through planning, analysis, and application of applicable security policies You will promote awareness and implementation of appropriate system security principles and policies. You will coordinate threat mitigation strategies across the enterprise. You will apply advanced knowledge of computer hardware concepts such as computer architecture and computer communication systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 Equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying risk management knowledge and expertise, to support cyber security requirements, and manage cybersecurity systems and applications.
