Departmental Assistant - UHS Finance Executive Area: Administration and
Finance College/School/MBU: Direct Medical Care Department: Medical
Services Work Location: Amherst Schedule: Part Time Work Arrangement:
Hybrid or Remote Job Summary Provides support to UHS Finance department
in the following areas: procurement, accounts payable, financial
analyst. The incumbent will work with assigned facilities, sites, and/or
object classes to prepare analyses of spending, process, reconcile
vendor accounts, and prepare and process payment documents and provide
back-up data entry assistance for employee reimbursements as needed.
Minimum Qualifications At least (A) one year of full-time, or equivalent
part-time, professional experience in accounting or auditing, or (B) two
years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, paraprofessional experience
in accounting or auditing. An Associate\'s or higher degree with a major
in accounting, business administration or business management may be
substituted for the required (A) experience. Ability to analyze and
determine the applicability of accounting data, to draw conclusions and
to make appropriate recommendations. Capacity to read and interpret
documents such as financial reports, accounts and ledgers. General
understanding and ability to explain and apply the laws, rules,
regulations, policies, procedures, specifications, standards, and
guidelines governing assigned unit activities. Talent in exercising
sound judgement and discretion in handling confidential information;
ability to maintain accurate records. Capability to establish rapport
and maintain harmonious working relationships with others. Ability to
work independently and in a team setting. Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of BuyWays, PeopleSoft, and the regulations of the
University of Massachusetts and University Health Services. Working
Conditions Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university
environment and involves minimal physical exertion. Work Schedule and
Work Arrangement Hours between Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5 PM This
position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule, which is
defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee?s work is
regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a
portion of the week. This position has the opportunity for a remote work
schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where the
employee?s work location is to work from a site other than the UMass
Amherst campus. Salary Information Hourly Rate: \$25.50 - \$30.50
