Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

We are seeking an innovative Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for UAS platforms. You will be responsible for developing and debugging microcontroller systems, collaborating with mechanical and software engineers, and ensuring the successful integration of electrical systems into UAS platforms. Your role will include developing and maintaining schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation for electrical systems, acting as the Avionics liaison between engineering and the production line, and addressing non-conformances from the production line. You will also develop and perform electrical tests and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for UAS platforms.

Develop and debug microcontroller systems and circuits.

Integrate electrical systems into UAS platforms in collaboration with mechanical and software engineers.

Maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation for electrical systems.

Act as the Avionics liaison between engineering and the production line.

Address and close out non-conformances from the production line.

Develop and perform electrical tests and test procedures to verify system functionality.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality electrical systems.

Essential Skills

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting circuits in UAS platforms.

Proficiency in Altium for circuit board/harness design.

Knowledge of analog and digital circuits, power supplies, and CAN bus communication.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work well in a team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

5-8 years of experience in Solidworks, Altium, and wire harness design.

Experience in digital and analog design.

Work Environment

You will work in a fast-paced environment where engineers have the opportunity to flight test their own designs. Projects move quickly, with designs completed in a few days and testing often occurring within the same week. This dynamic setting encourages rapid development and testing of UAS platforms.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Luis Obispo, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00/hr.
