Our work depends on an AI Engineer joining our team to optimize HR business functions, including recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, and data analytics in support of USPS Information Technology.
The integration of AI technologies is essential to streamline these processes and provide data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will evaluate the existing Human Resource Technology Solutions (HRTS) application landscape, propose solutions to automate and enhance operational efficiency, and develop AI models tailored for HR processes. Strong technical knowledge, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members are essential for success in this role.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current HRTS applications landscape to identify gaps and opportunities for incorporating AI and Automation solutions.
Design and recommend solutions for system enhancements, including software updates, integrations, and process improvements.
Develop, test, and deploy AI models and algorithms specifically targeting HR purposes, driving innovation and improving HR processes.
Create and maintain project documentation, including project plans, timelines, and progress reports, ensuring a structured approach to project delivery.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal team members, external stakeholders, and business partners to align technical efforts with organizational goals.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited College/University is preferred.
Alternative Path: If the candidate does not possess a relevant four-year degree, an additional four years of relevant work experience will be required.
Required Experience :
Minimum of 8+ years of Information Technology experience.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development, with expertise in AI and analytics.
Proven experience leading or contributing to AI/Automation projects in a professional capacity.
Hands-on experience in Analytics Support and/or a leadership role is highly desirable.
Required Technical Skills :
Proficiency in Oracle Forms/Reports, SAP ERP, WebSphere, Tomcat, Java, Python, and GitHub.
Strong knowledge of AI-related technologies, frameworks, and their integration into enterprise systems.
Preferred Skills :
Strong analytical thinking skills and ability to develop creative solutions to complex technical challenges.
Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment with cross-functional stakeholders.
Track record of delivering successful AI-enhanced projects for enterprise systems.
Security Clearance Level :
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

The likely salary range for this position is $111,155 - $150,385. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
