Lead the design, development and scaling of home-grown applications on AWS, removing dependencies on legacy technologies. Responsible for managing the results of software development teams, to ensure software solutions are built according to company standards and are compliant with business requirements. Reviews and evaluates the performance of the development teams. Ultimately accountable for project deliverables, schedules and quality.
To be considered for this role, you must be willing to be onsite Monday-Thursday each week, working remotely on Fridays.

The Work Itself
Liaison between business, architecture, and development team members.
Works directly with product owners to ensure stories contain the right balance of technical direction, best practices, and level of detail.
Coordinates projects with Engineering and Operations team to reduce impact on application development teams, including build-out of new development environments.
Drives continuous improvement through coaching, pair programming, code review processes, and round table discussions.
Instills strong focus and best practices for creation and maintenance of high-quality deliverables.
Communicates effectively with senior leadership and other development teams.
Mentor senior engineers and act as technical thought leader across teams
The Skills You Bring
5+ years of software engineering experience required
2-3 years in senior or principal roles preferred
Must have hands-on experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS); AWS certification is a plus.
Must have experience across the full technology stack, including:
Front End: React (required), HTML
Back End: Strong knowledge of SQL (many systems are SQL-based), Python, JavaScript
Background in lending or finance is required to understand business needs; experience does not have to be limited to the banking industry.
Expertise in container orchestration, serverless architectures and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Terraform) required
Must possess data engineering experience and skills at a minimum.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related discipline preferred.
Familiarity with cloud security, IAM, networking, and enterprise authentication (Okta) preferred.
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence technical and executive stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with hands-on problem-solving skills.
Proven record of building platforms or frameworks adopted at scale.
Ability to manage multiple complex software development projects.
Ability to articulate the company's business requirements and objectives and translate those into software development solutions.
Knowledge of all phases of software development.

An individual's position in the range is determined by the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
