Manufacturing Engineerto supportour partnership with Firefly Aerospace at their rocket production facility in Briggs, TX.

Through this partnership, Cimarron supplies skilled technical talent in support of Firefly Aerospaces advanced launch and space systems. Firefly designs and builds small- to medium-lift launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles for government and commercial missions from low Earth orbit to the Moon and beyond. Together, our teams leverage advanced carbon composite structures, patented propulsion technologies, and common components across platforms to move fast, improve reliability, and deliver payloads at a lower cost.

The selected candidate for this position will need to be able to work 1st and 2nd shift assignments.

Key Duties:

Act as a liaison between the machine shop and the engineering team.

Provide feedback to responsible engineers and recommend the most time- and cost-efficient methods for producing components.

Ensure on-time delivery of rocket components from CAD models through finished hardware and assemblies ready for testing.

Research and evaluate new manufacturing methods and production-related processes.

Identify and assess new materials to improve production efficiency and final product performance.

Collaborate with the design team to ensure component manufacturability.

Manage look-ahead planning for long-lead manufacturing tasks.

Drive improvements in manufacturing processes and cycle times.

Implement quick changeover and setup reduction improvements.

Maintain full accountability for assigned hardware throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

Develop clear and accurate work instructions.

Identify manufacturing or quality issues and partner with Quality to define and execute corrective actions.

Coordinate with Tooling and Programming teams to ensure job readiness.

Support the conceptual design and sourcing of work-holding solutions.

::: {#jobdetailsatsrequisitionrequirements} Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time.

5 or more years of experience working in a machine shop environment performing similar responsibilities.

Ability to support 1st or 2nd shift assignments.

Experience using CAD software such as Pro/ENGINEER (Creo), CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or NX.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Demonstrated passion for designing, building, and bringing products from concept to reality.

Expert-level understanding of GDandT and its application to manufacturing and inspection.

Ability to develop CAD models and create engineering drawings in accordance with international drafting and drawing standards.

Bachelor's degree.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

Direct experience with manufacturing process development, including casting, forging, metallic additive manufacturing, and sheet metal fabrication.

Experience with budgetary planning and schedule development.

Experience working with vertical turn lathes.

Demonstrated tooling design and tooling optimization expertise.

Experience programming CNC machines.

Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC machines.

Strong data analysis skills to support process optimization and decision-making.

Experience with capacity planning in a manufacturing environment.

Experience supporting or working within a startup or fast-growth environment.

Experience in the aerospace industry.
