Our trusted client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant Consultant to join our team for a long-term engagement in Plymouth, Michigan. This role focuses on managing key balance sheet areas, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and contributing to the efficiency of accounting processes. The position requires strong organizational skills and expertise in general accounting practices.

The day-to-day responsibilities Include:

Oversee and maintain balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end and year-end close processes.

Conduct thorough account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Perform bank reconciliations to ensure records align with financial statements.

Assist in the development and implementation of a new chart of accounts.

Support the general ledger maintenance and ensure entries are correctly classified.

Review financial data and provide detailed reports to management.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting operations.

Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:

Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries.

Strong skills in account and bank reconciliation.

Familiarity with developing and maintaining chart of accounts.

Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to analyze financial data and present actionable insights.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.

Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and management.
