NY1560800 Accounting Manager - Construction

Interstate Reinforcing, Inc. is seeking a full time experienced, detail-oriented Accounting Manager with a background in the construction industry who can manage accounting operations while also supporting project management functions related to contracts and financial controls. This role partners closely with project managers, operations, and leadership to ensure projects are set up correctly, tracked accurately, and billed in compliance with contract terms.

The ideal candidate has hands-on construction accounting experience, understands construction contracts, and brings either a 2-year degree in accounting or equivalent relevant work experience.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger

Manage job cost accounting, cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis

Prepare and review contacts, insurance, WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion reporting

Support project setup and financial management from contract award through closeout

Review and manage construction contracts, including billing terms, retainage, change orders, and compliance requirements

Oversee progress billings, lien waivers, and contract documentation

Assist with month-end and year-end closure processes

Qualifications

Associate degree in Accounting OR equivalent construction accounting experience

Strong knowledge of

Job costing and project financial controls

Construction contracts and billing requirements

WIP and percentage-of-completion reporting

Familiarity with construction accounting and project management software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Procore, or similar) with proficiency in excel

Proactive, strong organizational, high standards of accuracy and compliance.

NYS Notary Public License (preferred)

Hours

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm, 37.5 hrs per week

Wage

$28.00 - $32.00 per hour based on experience
