Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Middlebury, Vermont. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing and optimizing financial transactions related to accounts receivable. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cash applications, commercial collections, and billing processes.

Responsibilities:

Process and manage accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and efficiency.

Handle cash applications, ensuring timely and precise allocation of funds.

Oversee commercial collections by proactively following up on outstanding payments.

Prepare and issue invoices, ensuring all billing functions comply with company policies.

Reconcile cash activity and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Maintain customer accounts, updating records and addressing inquiries as necessary.

Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounts receivable operations.

Generate regular financial reports to support decision-making processes.

Monitor and enforce payment terms to minimize overdue accounts.

Assist in audits and compliance reviews related to accounts receivable. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts receivable or a related financial role.

Strong knowledge of cash applications and invoicing procedures.

Familiarity with commercial collections processes and practices.

Proficiency in reconciling cash activity and resolving discrepancies.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong communication abilities for interacting with clients and internal teams.

Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail.

Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.
