Description

We are looking for a motivated early career Accountant to join our team in Culver City. This contract position with the potential for permanent employment offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting within the media and entertainment industry. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and an eye for detail, enabling them to handle financial records, payment tracking, and reporting efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and timely records of client participation reports and associated payments.

Analyze contracts and profit participation statements to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Perform basic accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks, including invoicing and payment follow-up.

Follow up on outstanding invoices and ensure timely payment processing.

Input financial data into accounting systems and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.

Generate and manage customized Excel spreadsheets tailored to business requirements and client needs.

Collaborate with team members to address client inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.

Assist in preparing financial reports and reconciliations to support business operations.

Ensure all accounting records adhere to company policies and industry standards.

Requirements

Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

Proficiency in performing bank and account reconciliations.

Experience in handling accounting entries and maintaining accurate financial records.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including creating and managing spreadsheets.

Prior experience working with entertainment or media companies is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze financial documents.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Effective communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
