We have an opportunity to join our client as a Cybersecurity Firewall Analyst on a 12-month contract with likelihood to extend. The organization is a stable and growing enterprise where consultants have delivered positive outcomes over many years.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $40.00 to $50.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
Perform day to day firewall policy administration.
Maintain the security framework across the enterprise.
Participate in cybersecurity projects and initiatives with IT and business units.
Contribute to the team knowledge base.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of security infrastructure, changes, and strategies.
Document work performed and changes made.
Engage with business partners and IT teams to understand, apply, and enforce security requirements.
Proactively identify and recommend solutions to potential security issues.
Participate in on-call rotation duties.
Provide increased availability during inclement weather, cyber, and significant incidents.
Adhere to change management requirements and processes.
Respond to incidents in a timely manner.
Configure, install, and maintain security hardware.
Deploy code upgrades on security platforms.
Assist with investigation and troubleshooting during service disruption events.
Represent the security organization professionally with internal partners and IT support groups.
Experience Requirements:
Hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls.
Experience performing day to day firewall policy administration.
Ability to develop firewall policy balancing customer requirements and security controls.
Ability to analyze firewall security and traffic logs.
Network administration or support experience.
Understanding of TCP/IP communications and how protocols such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, and SMB operate at the network level.
Experience with network monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting.
Experience analyzing network traffic.
Working knowledge of NAT principles and troubleshooting.
Experience supporting a large enterprise network.
Experience in data center environments.
Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls (preferred).
Hands-on experience with Cisco ASA firewalls (preferred).
Demonstrated commitment to personal and team success (preferred).
Education Requirements:
Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Entry-level Technician (PCCET) (preferred).
Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) (preferred).
Cisco CCNA (preferred).
Cisco DevNet Associate (preferred).
CompTIA Security+ (preferred).
CompTIA Network+ (preferred).
Other relevant industry certifications (preferred).
