Overview
The goal of the Search and News Ads (SNA) Finance group is to provide key insights that will help Microsoft make better financial and business decisions. We are responsible for delivering advertising that empowers our users by bringing them closer to the people and information that matter most to them. Our team is responsible for leading the forecast and budget processes across SNA and ensuring forecast accuracy and predictability. We collaborate with Finance leaders, Engineering groups, Sales and Marketing teams, as well as the Central Finance Team & Investor Relations.
Finance managers on our team help us transform the way we measure business performance, manage resources, and lead financial activities using business intelligence, modeling, and analytics. As Senior Finance Manager, Advertising AI (artificial intelligence), you will have a unique opportunity to use your insights and strategic thinking to partner with leaders on financial analysis, financial decisions and investments, and process transformation projects.
We are looking for Finance professionals with adept modeling and analytical skills, an executive presence, ability to dive into the details and understand the key drivers, and effectively communicate results and drivers to business partners, including executives. Additionally, they exhibit curiosity, fast learnings, and have a passion for understanding the models and drivers in our Consumer business and products.

Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Lead forecasting, budgeting, and cost-optimization efforts by developing and maintaining financial models, ensuring accuracy within defined variance thresholds, and delivering measurable savings through disciplined deal management and cross-charge planning.
Produce timely, executive-ready financial and competitive insights, and leverage automation and AI tools to streamline workflows and support efficient decision-making.
Manage strategic deal and investment modeling by evaluating ROI, structuring cross-organization agreements, and partnering with product and engineering teams to inform high-impact decisions.
Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as required.
Partnership
Serve as the Finance point of contact for partners, addressing questions related to revenue, expenses, and compliance.
Apply Microsoft Finance fundamentals (e.g., financial systems, policies, metrics, historical performance, reporting, and forecasting requirements) and relevant business @context (e.g., monetization strategy, market factors, profitability drivers) to gather information, perform analysis, and complete standardized reporting.
Communicate recurring and ad-hoc results clearly and logically for a variety of audiences.
Protect
Support compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and monitoring financial documents and business processes.Recommend corrective actions when needed and respond to questions related to documentation, policy requirements, and adherence expectations.Stay current on company policies and procedures and share relevant updates with stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.
1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.
Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
