Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description

The Distribution Center Specialist will operate a forklift within the distribution center to efficiently move items. The role focuses on order picking, loading, and the transfer of goods to and from the plant, as well as item storage. Candidates must be capable of lifting 50 pounds repetitively and frequently getting on and off forklifts to perform various tasks.

Responsibilities

Unload and store inbound receipts and transfers.

Pull, stage, and load outbound orders.

Pull and load outbound transfers to the production site.

Check and correct outbound and inbound paperwork for accuracy.

Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS), including scanners.

Perform trailer inspections.

Recoup damaged goods when necessary.

Manage floor plans for finished goods and raw materials efficiently.

Perform job functions in accordance with the SQF code.

Assist in housekeeping activities at the Distribution Center.

Attend training sessions as provided and suggested.

Engage in special projects with Distribution Center Management.

Communicate stop-call-wait situations, failures, and any issues requiring management approval to Distribution Center Management.

Assist in equipment maintenance with maintenance technicians to properly identify and resolve issues.

Essential Skills

Forklift experience in a warehouse setting.

Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Ability to get on and off the forklift repetitively.

Knowledge of WMS/Inventory Management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with order picking, shipping, and receiving.

Proficiency in using RF scanners.

Skills in material handling, packaging, and labeling.

Work Environment

First Shift: Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm and Friday from 8 am to 2:30 pm. The environment requires wearing PPE such as safety shoes and glasses, and appropriate attire like jeans or khakis without rips or holes. Tank tops, jewelry, and phones are not allowed on the person while working.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Terre Haute, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.74 - $20.74/hr.
