At the State of Minnesota, employees play a critical role in developing policies, providing essential services, and working to improve the well-being and quality of life for all Minnesotans. The State of Minnesota is committed to equity and inclusion, and invests in employees by providing benefits, support resources, and training and development opportunities.
This position performs technical and analytical financial and administrative work to support PERA's Statewide Voluntary Firefighter (SVF) Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Plans. The role assists with SVF financial operations and reporting for participating fire departments, supports coordination with internal PERA staff and external partners, and helps ensure financial activity aligns with applicable laws and accounting standards. In addition, the position supports training and documentation efforts, assists with legislative or procedural changes as directed, contributes to system-related analysis and testing activities, and works with other state agencies to support accurate and consistent SVF plan administration. This position is responsible for completing reconciliations, creating invoices, applying payments, reviewing data, and responding to inquiries from SVF members. This position also requires strong attention to detail and works independently with a high degree of discretion, making it well suited for someone who values meaningful public service work, autonomy, and cross-functional collaboration.
This position is telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) eligible and offers a hybrid work schedule which may include telework up to 50% of the scheduled workdays each month, based on agency and department needs and other dependencies. Scheduled in-office work days are at PERA's office building in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Candidates located outside the state of Minnesota and more than 50 miles from PERA's St. Paul office are not eligible to telework and would be required to report to the office full-time.
