What You Will Be Doing: In this position, you will be part of the statewide Public Assistance Eligibility Team. Together, we will help Alaskan families, elders, and those in need reach higher levels of independence and self-sufficiency. Eligibility Technicians assist the public by connecting them to a variety of public assistance programs and services provided by our agency.

The Working Environment You Can Expect: This position joins a statewide eligibility workflow team in local Public Assistance offices across the state. The physical location of the work site will be based on the community of hire.*Your work site will be in one of these two DPA offices:Bethel or Fairbanks.

Managing Performance: Takes responsibility for employees' performance by setting and communicating expectations and goals that are specific and measurable, tracking progress against the goals, supporting employees' efforts to achieve job goals (by providing resources, removing obstacles, acting as a buffer, etc.), ensuring feedback, and addressing performance problems and issues promptly.

Developing Others: Develops the abilities of others to perform and contribute to the health and welfare of Alaskans and the Division by providing ongoing feedback and by providing opportunities to learn through formal and informal methods.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience as an Eligibility Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or its equivalent with another employer and one year of lead or supervisory experience in any job;

One year performing similar work that developed knowledge and skill in leading staff that apply program requirements while working with client customers in stressful situations.
