Department Overview
As a Director, Executive Protective Services, you will join a diverse and dynamic team that provides protection for our senior executives and designated protectees. You will use your skills and experience in personal and physical security strategy to plan and execute security operations, conduct risk assessments, and consult with law enforcement and other security representatives to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients. The position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and outstanding social skills. The position reports to the Senior Director of Executive and Event Services and is based at McDonald's Headquarters in Chicago, IL. Duties
Provide close protection to designated executives, ensuring their safety in both domestic and international locations.
Collaborate with our Global Security Intelligence Team in preparing risk assessments and threat analysis; develop custom mitigation strategies.
Continuously evaluate threat levels and adapt security strategies accordingly.
Coordinate and implement detailed executive travel plans, secure transportation arrangements, and accommodations.
Conduct advance site surveys and ensure secure environments at all destinations; includes route selections, vehicle security, venue security, emergency evacuation, and other relevant tasks.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive security plans, policies, and procedures for executives while managing a high volumes of communication to ensure relevant updates are identified and integrated into planning.
Continuously assess the effectiveness of security measures and suggest improvements, as necessary.
Ability to drive designated executives, as needed.
Monitor and report any suspicious or hostile activities.
Act swiftly and decisively during emergency situations, such as medical incidents, accidents, or security incidents.
Provide immediate first aid, emergency CPR and AED assistance, or evacuation of designated facilities, if necessary.
Liaise and coordinate with law enforcement and other security representatives.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding client information and security operations.
Keep up to date with security trends, best practices, and technologies.
Produce high-quality results related to security planning and special projects.
Perform additional responsibilities as required to support evolving operational needs.
Qualifications
Ten+ years of experience in executive protection or a related field; diverse law enforcement or corporate security experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Advanced degree is desirable.
Successfully pass a McDonald's background check upon hire and every two years thereafter.
Valid passport.
Valid driver's license, required to pass ongoing Motor Vehicle Record checks, and maintain eligibility to drive McDonald's vehicles.
Ability to acquire and maintain Concealed Carry Weapons permit in Illinois, as well as meet other relevant firearms and security licensing provisions.
Maintain extreme confidentiality of sensitive information and sign a nondisclosure agreement.
Ability to work flexible traditional and non-traditional work hours (off hours) which may include evenings, weekends and holidays, and ability to travel, as needed.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities, inputs, or operating conditions.
Ability to proactively source, interpret, and integrate information from internal and external stakeholders to formulate effective security plans.
Knowledge of advance security protocols to include site surveys, emergency action procedures, route planning, and reconnaissance.
Knowledge of basic first aid and ability to obtain and maintain certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid training.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to anticipate and mitigate risk.
Ability to build positive collaborative working relationships across our organization and communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of constituents.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills and can prepare clear, comprehensive, and significant reports.
Participate in scheduled training to maintain readiness and alignment with evolving protocols and standards.
Ability to manage pressure and challenges with professionalism, courtesy, and resilience.
Proven ability to work independently and effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Confirmed knowledge and proficiency with various computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Share Point) and the ability to learn bespoke applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in protective and event security planning and implementation.
Experience in crisis management and response.
Experience managing budgets, personnel, and resources.
Qualification under HR 218.
Successful completion of a recognized Executive Protection Course
Successful completion of a recognized Defensive/Evasive Driving Course.
Prior experience in emergency response and first aid procedures, to include CPR/AED/First Aid certification.

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $157,655.00 - $197,069.00 per year
