Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in Troy, AL. In this role, you will develop hands-on Production Engineering skills used to support the manufacture of military missile systems; the skills may include: ordnance handling, mechanical assembly, electronic testing, factory automation, industrial processes, technical writing, teaming and continuous improvement techniques. Candidates will learn how to read and interpret engineering drawings & specifications to develop manufacturing processes, special tooling, and unique factory equipment; they will utilize software systems to develop manufacturing work instruction, analyze data, support test troubleshooting, and design/document process flows. Investigate root cause of failures/defects and implement preventative/corrective actions to support continuous improvement.

Must be a US Citizen.; This position will require a government security clearance.; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or related discipline from an accredited university

Lockheed Martin will assist selected candidate with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting. Additionally, the candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ("ATF") background check to obtain approval to be an "employee possessor" (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.

Desired Skills:

Applied knowledge of manufacturing assembly and test methods, industrial processes, factory automation, technical writing, and teaming.

Strong hands-on mechanical assembly and disassembly skills.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
