Telecom Technician - Maui (Entry Level)

Location: Maui (various customer sites; daily start/end varies by assignment)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Top Skills & Requirements

Interest in learning the telecom trade (Layer 1: fiber, Cat5/Cat6). Training provided for candidates without prior experience.

Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs (heavy/awkward ladders, tools, equipment).

Must pass a drug test and have a valid driver's license.

Job Description

Splice fiber optic cables (loose tube and ribbon).

Build and install splice cases including grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage, and sealing.

Read work orders, cut sheets, engineering drawings, and follow task sequences.

Follow BICSI and industry standards on all telecom installations.

Interpret aerial and underground telecom facilities and provide recommendations for route changes.

Maintain accurate inside/outside plant documentation.

Support engineering, permitting, and construction teams as needed.

Perform routine maintenance and repair route issues (hand hole cleanup, signage, etc.).

Install and connect cables to terminals, hardware, buildings, and poles.

Participate in emergency and outage response requiring construction capabilities.

Ensure all work is compliant with safety standards and public safety requirements.

Work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Complete daily production reports and as-built documentation.

This is a Permanent position based out of Kapolei, HI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $47840.00/yr.
