Summary of Position
Our Engineering Services group is looking for an intern this summer to help Jabil make everything better and anything possible. The Engineering Services group supports engineering teams working on electrical, electromechanical, and mechanical systems by implementing process and technology solutions. While the Engineering Services group does not engineer products, it engineers the processes and tasks that support the product design team.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements through the implementation of technology and software solutions. The intern will be assigned a primary task for the summer and will be empowered to lead all aspects of it, including project management, solution development, rollout and communication, and ongoing monitoring once implemented.
Intern Duties & Responsibilities
Primary Project:
Develop a project plan to complete the assigned task within the internship timeline, including milestones, timelines, and success criteria.
Research and understand the current process, then improve it through software, automation, or other enhancement methods.
Develop software and/or automation tools using Microsoft Power Platform, Python, Mendix, or other applications.
Collaborate with a cross-functional team to implement the improved process and solution.
Create and implement monitoring tools for the process, including Power BI dashboards and automated alerts via Power Automate.
General Support:
Work with engineers around the world to support Engineering Services initiatives.
Assist in building databases and dashboards for key processes and engineering information.
Support the standardization of processes and procedures across engineering organizations serving multiple industries.
Prioritize and complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Major(s): Finance, Accounting, Data Scientist, Computer Programmer, Web Developer, and related majors.
Class Year(s): Junior, Senior.
GPA: Min 3.0
Technical Skills:
Strong data analysis skills.
Understanding of finance and accounting principles.
Ability to evaluate project data and make informed decisions.
Knowledge of project management and process improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, DMEDI, SCRUM).
Familiarity with Python and/or JSON preferred.
Experience with databases or database development preferred.
Proven academic project experience, including Capstone participation.
Involvement in extracurricular activities.
Openness to future mobility.
Effective Communication, Self-starter - Ability to drive work.
Leadership Skills: Agility, Building Trusting Relationships, Decision Making Skills, & Resilience.
Availability: Must be available to work in St. Petersburg Florida from May 18, 2026 - Aug 7, 2026.
