Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead our Electrical Engineering (EE) team. This role involves providing leadership and expertise on the electrical portion of a wide range of projects, from new builds to adaptive reuse and renovation. The EE team currently consists of two members, and we are looking for someone to guide them and enhance our project outcomes.

Responsibilities

Calculate voltage drop to ensure electrical systems maintain proper voltage levels throughout the distribution network.

Determine conduit fill to ensure safe and efficient cable management.

Perform lighting design to develop plans that meet aesthetic, functional, and energy efficiency requirements.

Design power generation systems, including those utilizing renewable energy sources.

Coordinate and integrate electrical systems with local utility providers.

Create detailed single-phase and three-phase electrical drawings.

Design low voltage and fiber optic cabling systems for data and communication networks.

Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion.

Maintain effective communication with clients and internal teams to meet project requirements and expectations.

Essential Skills

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with ability to obtain EIT and PE certifications.

Proficiency in electrical engineering principles and schematic design.

Experience with Revit and electrical design, particularly in power generation and distribution.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Open to candidates with varied years of experience in electrical design within the A&E field.

Revit proficiency is preferred but potentially flexible.

Ability to stamp and potentially run the electrical team in the future.

Work Environment

The work environment is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, within a clean, modern, and comfortable office space. The office maintains a relatively quiet atmosphere, conducive to focused work. The position involves a standard workweek of Monday to Friday, from 7/8 am to 4/5 pm, with occasional overtime as needed. Business casual attire, such as polos and jeans, is the norm. The role is primarily office-based, with occasional site visits.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $45.00/hr.
