Role summary:
The (USA) Risk Expert III plays a critical role in our Global Tech Policy 2.0 initiative. Challenge existing practices, constantly seeking opportunities to streamline and enhance our policy and controls management program. Leverage AI and automation tools to drive efficiencies throughout the development, authoring, and revision of technology and information security policies. Your involvement will ensure our policies not only protect the company but also set new standards for effectiveness and agility in a rapidly evolving landscape.
About the team:
Join Walmart's Global Tech Policy & Security Advisors Team, dedicated to shaping technology and information security policies for a leading global retailer. The team collaborates across functions to identify risks, enhance governance, and implement robust security measures. Focused on continuous improvement, members apply expertise in risk management, stakeholder engagement, and cyber security to protect operations and support innovation. This team drives effective policy development and governance, ensuring agility and resilience in a dynamic technological environment while safeguarding business interests and setting high standards for security and compliance.
What you'll do:
Develop and update technology, AI, and information security policies and standards to ensure compliance with industry frameworks (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, NIST).
Evaluate policy revisions to ensure strong control integrity, identify risk and compliance gaps, and recommend targeted improvements.
Maintain and perform risk assessments and risk registers for technology and AI initiatives, driving appropriate remediation actions.
Collaborate with Legal, Regulatory, AI Security, Data Governance, Decision Science, Audit, and business teams to ensure policy alignment and consistent governance.
Translate complex policy requirements into clear, actionable guidance that supports global adoption and implementation.
Support process improvements to streamline policy workflows and enhance adoption across global markets.
What you'll bring:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., computer science, information assurance, law, or a related field).
At least 5 years of experience in risk management, policy development, or a related field.
Strong understanding of technology compliance standards and emerging risks within technology and information security.
Proven experience in writing and updating policy documents to align with market specific compliance and business needs.
Proven experience in supporting business process improvement and implementation projects
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively navigate multiple stakeholder groups.
Experience with various technologies, including AI.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and develop mitigation strategies.

Bentonville, Arkansas US-09050: The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
