Primary Function:

Assist in ordering material and services for government and commercial contracts in compliance with NQA1, ASME or other Quality Assurance programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing, reviewing, and updating purchasing system procedures and work instructions.

Identify future procurement requirements and proactively evaluate potential suppliers to ensure timely acquisition and cost efficiency.

Identification and development of qualified suppliers to establish and maintain an Approved and Qualified Vendor Lists and bidder lists, ensuring competitive sourcing and responsible pricing.

Establish and maintain supply chain relationships with competitively selected vendors through basic ordering agreements.

Provide assistance to Business Development in the development of teaming agreements or other contractual cooperative arrangements.

Provide oversight and leadership to ensure vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders comply with all contract terms and conditions, with particular emphasis on quality assurance requirements.

Serve as a procurement resource for staff and management by providing guidance, expertise, and support.

Prepare internal procurement reports and documentation as required by management.

Perform or assist in all aspects of the procurement process.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and/or training in manufacturing field

Preferred minimum of two years in industrial and/or federal procurement.

Additional Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, experience with Financial System and Order processing systems, and ability to learn additional software. Ability to project a professional demeanor and communicate across all levels of the company.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit in a stationary position for extended periods of time while working at a computer. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet - typical of what is generally found in an office setting. The employee will occasionally find it necessary to enter a manufacturing environment. The manufacturing environment is typical of that @type of setting - employees may be exposed to inclement weather, loud noises, tripping hazards; and there may be exposure to sparks, welding arc, open flame, and moving equipment.
