Assistant Director, Career Success

Position Summary: The Director oversees the day-to-day operations of the Office of Career Success, which serves approximately 1100 students and all Cardozo alumni.Position Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day operations of the officeAssist with strategic planning for programs and workshopsDraft guides and other recruitment-related materials for studentsOversee registration processes for various recruitment programsCounsel JD and LLM students and alumni on job search strategies and career developmentConduct workshops and individual counseling sessions on resume writing, interviewing, and networking; organizes and presents panel discussions and other programs on career-related topicsCoordinate the administration of various programs with other departmentsConduct outreach to potential employersWork with Admissions in planning information sessions for admitted students and coordinating the transition for transfer-in studentsContribute articles to the office's monthly newsletterReports directly to the Associate Dean for Career SuccessInteracts regularly with the Admissions Office, Special Events, professional organizations, employers, and alumniSome supervisory responsibility for staffExperience & Educational Background: J.D. requiredSome legal practice is strongly preferredSome counseling or recruitment-related experience strongly preferredManagement experience preferredSkills & Competencies: Fosters encourages and facilitates open communication and an atmosphere of open expression and communicationGains cooperation by explicitly addressing others' interests and concernsContinually searches for ways to increase the satisfaction of faculty, students, staff, and other constituentsActions are consistent with the University's strategic and operational objectives and standardsSupports fair treatment and equal opportunity for all and enforces that policy within his/her sphere of influenceStrong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are a mustFamiliarity with Banner, Symplicity, or similar systems preferredApplication Instructions: Resume and cover letter requiredSalary Range: $85,000 - $95,000About Us: The Benjamin N.
