CITY OF BROWNWOOD - JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Assignment: AIRPORT SERVICE PERSON I Job Number: 13-0668 Department: 13-Airport Pay: $2,412.00 per month / $13.92 per hour Immediate Supervisor: Airport Manager GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Provide service to airport customers in fueling and towing aircraft; perform custodial duties in keeping buildingand premises in a neat, orderly condition; mowing grounds in airport area; may work in extreme conditions ofweather, shift work and holiday work is required; performs refueling of aircraft and other maintenance work atairport facility as required by Airport Manager. Must be willing to adopt and exhibit the City of Brownwood ISERVE Core Values. EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC WORK PERFORMED:

Fueling aircraft;

Move aircraft with proper equipment;

Minor maintenance of buildings and grounds;

Operate Unicom;

Prepare daily report of sales;

Responsible for receiving monies, preparing credit cardsand necessary clerical work for sale of fuel;

Daily inspection of fuel tanks and trucks;

Operate weed eaters,chain saws, leaf blowers, skill saws, small tools while performing minor maintenance duties;

Operate largetractor and other mowers to mow around runways and other airport areas;

Will occasionally perform duties in bucket of a lift truck while installing light bulbs, etc.;

Will operate a cutting torch during maintenance ofbuildings and grounds;

Light maintenance of ground vehicles;

Will greet people with respect andprofessionalism as they enter the building and as they fly in on the airport ramp;

Other duties as assigned bysupervisor.

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Employee will be exposed to heights and have to climb ladders while dragging large hoses. Work shiftschedules on weekends and holidays. Ability to transport self from site to site. Ability to drive various @types ofequipment and vehicles to and from various worksites. Employee will work in extreme temperatures, standing,walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, climbing and lifting in order to maintain repair of the Citys Airportfacilities. Employee will work with chemicals, mechanical, electrical and traffic hazards. Employee will workon or near runways where extreme hazards exist while performing duties. Employee is frequently required toperform heavy lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Employee will be required to doheavy pushing and pulling of aircraft and hanger doors. Employee will be exposed to dirt, dust, noises, fumesand odors. Employee must be able to walk on slippery, loose, uneven and sloped surfaces. CONTACT WITH OTHERS: Contact with other city employees; frequent contact with aircraft owners, operators and the public. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school Diploma or G.E.D. required; prefer one or more years of related experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to dispense proper fuel to various @types of aircraft; to deal effectively with the pilots and the generalpublic in a courteous manner. Knowledge, skills and abilities to perform maintenance of buildings, equipment,and vehicles. Some clerical skills required. REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: Valid Texas Driver License is required. Texas Class B Commercial Driver License is a plus.
