Intake Coordinator - Center for Liver Care

The Center for Liver Care is excited to recruit an Intake Coordinator to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in patient access, scheduling office visits and procedures. The position will be based in the Kaufmann Medical Building working Monday - Friday daylight hours. Successful applicants should be highly organized and detail-oriented to ensure accurate work and follow up. Top candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communications skills, with an aptitude for great teamwork.

Responsibilities:

Manage initial intakes of referred patients referred to the UPMC Center for Liver Care (CLiC)

Schedule office visits, testing and procedures for patients

Assist with coordination of care for patient with liver diseases, in collaboration with the medical team

Manage referral source missing information

Initialize prior authorizations for GI procedures

Obtain basic medical histories and personal information of new patients

Update medical records of new and existing patients

Review documents for accuracy and completeness

Maintain accurate documentation

Enter data into the electronic medical record

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. One (1) year of experience with administrative support in an outpatient clinic, physician office or other health care setting. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Ability to handle a high-volume workload and to remain focused and organized under pressure. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Ability to perform duties with significant degree of independence and initiative. Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred.
