Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing mechanical calculations and ensuring the accuracy of numbers derived from drawings. There will be no design work involved; instead, you will focus on validating designs against customer requirements and industry standards. Your ability to work independently on hand calculations using ANSYS and MATHCAD is crucial.

Responsibilities

Validate that the design meets customer requirements and industry standards through calculations.

Check the work of other team members, including inputs, equations, and assumptions.

Document calculations and share them with customers, ensuring they are formatted for readability and understanding.

Respond to customer feedback effectively.

Collaborate with the mechanical design team to confirm assumptions and recommend improvements to design.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

3 years of mechanical engineering experience.

Proficiency in ANSYS for at least 3 years.

Ability to read mechanical drawings and spec sheets.

Understanding of industry standards.

Capability to draw free body diagrams and analyze forces.

Experience in mechanical shaft calculations and component selection equations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with MATHCAD.

Familiarity with government and structural projects.

Work Environment

This position is within the structural department of the Nuclear division. The work involves number crunching rather than design. You will have access to example calculations to guide your work, ensuring you have a solid foundation from which to begin. Collaboration with the mechanical design team is necessary to confirm assumptions and suggest design improvements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Berlin, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $60.00/hr.
