Description We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to provide essential support to our legal team in Hingham, Massachusetts. This Contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of legal proceedings by managing administrative tasks and ensuring compliance with filing procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil litigation and court filings, as well as strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and submit legal documents through electronic filing systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Coordinate and manage calendars for attorneys, including scheduling court appearances, meetings, and deadlines.

Assist in civil litigation processes by organizing case files, drafting correspondence, and maintaining records.

Handle court filings with precision, adhering to all procedural requirements.

Utilize dictaphone equipment to transcribe legal dictations into accurate documents.

Maintain organized and up-to-date files for active cases, ensuring easy access for the legal team.

Communicate with court personnel and other parties to facilitate case progress and resolve administrative issues.

Monitor deadlines and legal timelines to ensure compliance with procedural rules.

Provide general administrative support, including answering inquiries and managing office correspondence. Requirements - Proficiency in e-Filing systems and familiarity with electronic submission processes.

Experience in civil litigation, including knowledge of legal procedures and terminology.

Strong skills in calendar management to coordinate schedules and meet deadlines.

Expertise in handling court filings and ensuring compliance with legal standards.

Ability to use dictaphone equipment for transcription purposes.

Excellent organizational skills to maintain detailed and accurate case files.

Effective communication abilities to liaise with court staff and other stakeholders.

Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all administrative tasks.
