ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II: PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

HOURS: Primarily Day Shift SALARY: $24.15 per hour

Full Time Management Confidential/Grade 8

LOCATION: Wyoming County Planning and Development

36 Center Street, Suite C, Warsaw, NY 14569

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves responsibility for providing high-level moderately difficult administrative support to leadership; which includes coordinating departmental projects, organizing communications, and helping to manage the flow of operations. This role may require an understanding of specific laws, organizational rules, policies or procedures. Specific duties will, however, vary with the needs of the appointing authority. The incumbent works under the direct supervision of a higher-level staff member but has moderate leeway in carrying out the every-day activities. Supervision of others is not a responsibility of employees in this class, although the employee may be called upon to help orient or cross-train other similarly classified staff. This role will require both independent initiative and strong collaboration to handle a diverse range of tasks. Does related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Associates Degree in a related field plus two (2) years of office clerical experience which involved the operation of a computer for the use of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other database applications; OR

B. High school diploma or GED plus four (4) years of experience as defined in (A).

NOTES:

Previous supervisory experience and familiarity with project management is preferred. Knowledge of MUNIS system is also preferred.
