Account Clerk - Full Time - DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES

HOURS: 8:30 A.M. 4:30 P.M. SALARY: $19.30 - $21.17 per hour

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The Account Clerk is responsible for the performance of standard account keeping procedures in maintaining and checking financial accounts and records. The incumbent is responsible for entering and retrieving information using computer database/spreadsheet software. Routine Assignments are done under supervision in accordance with defined procedures; detailed instructions are provided for new or unusual assignments. This class differs from Senior Account Clerk by virtue of the limited complexity of the work. Work will be reviewed by observation, crosschecks, or by the immediate supervisor and by other steps in the account-keeping process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or high school equivalency diploma and one (1) year of clerical experience maintaining financial accounts and records.

Position will remain posted until filled.

THE INCUMBENT WILL BE A CONTINGENT APPOINTMENT.

NOTES:

Degree(s) must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/ U.S. Secretary of Education. If the degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, the candidate must provide independent verification of equivalency.
