THE POSITION
A new and exciting career awaits you! The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is actively seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to be part of our team at Clarks Summit State Hospital. The Nursing Department is looking for multiple individuals with a desire to facilitate the provision of optimal nursing care for the patients at Clarks Summit State Hospital.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
You will provide nursing care on an assigned shift, in multiple living areas, in accordance with the established standards of nursing practice, policies, and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment

Work hours:
2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Rotating weekends, days off, and holiday schedule.
Work schedule may change based on operational needs.

Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,558.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Special Requirements:
This position requires active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in Pennsylvania.
All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement (https://www.employment.pa.gov/Additional%20Info/Pages/default.aspx) is currentlywaivedfor this title.
If you are within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screening.
